  • What is MUN?
Model United Nations, also known as model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. At a MUN conference, students work as the representative of a country, organization, or person, and must solve a problem with other delegates from around the world. Delegates conduct research before conferences: they must formulate position papers, and create policy proposals that they will debate with other delegates in their committee. At the end of a conference, delegates will vote on written policies (called draft resolutions), with the goal of passing them with a majority vote. The best-performing delegates in each committee, as well as delegations, are sometimes recognized with awards.
  • How do I apply?
Just click apply on our home page.
  • What makes IUMUN different from all the other conferences?
IUMUN shines with the quality it brings to the table. Our club embraces our very own IUMUN school of though to conference making where every delegate is tended to individually. While still having a lot of fun activities, our emphasis and focus is on the academic benefit we provide you. All the while being much more affordable than other conferences.
  • Who can I approach if I have a problem or need assistance during the conference?
Our Public Relations team’s primary goal is to assist you with anything and listen to your problems! You can seek out a PR team member (they are very easy to spot) and if they cannot help you themselves, they will guide you to someone who can.
  • Will participants be given certificates at the end of the conference?
Yes! All delegates who did not miss two whole sessions get their participation certificate.
  • Will food be provided to participants during the conference?
Four days of food is included in the application fee.
  • What resources and materials should a delegate bring to the conference to stay organised and informed?
All the materials you will need during the conference are included in the application fee and will be provided to you during the registration. You can also read the study guides which will be shared before the conference and bring your research documents if you like.
  • Can we change our countries/committees if we don't like them?
Our academic team decides your allocations after a careful evaluation process considering your experiences, your awards and your motivation letter, which means changing it is sadly not possible.
