About the committee

Founded after the Second World War, The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has been considered the Land of the Slavs for a long time. This nation with many different languages, ethnicities, and religions somehow managed to overcome their differences and became one under the leadership of one man: Josip Broz Tito.
During the Second World War, Yugoslavia was under Nazi occupation. While it was difficult for Yugoslavians to liberate the Balkans, with the resistance that Josip Broz Tito and his fellow Yugoslav partisans sparked, the land of the Slavs came under their control. After the war, with the enlightening principles of Titoism, the nation successfully managed to stand together as one. Adopting a liberalized and unique economic system made different ethnicities of Yugoslavia strengthen the link between themselves and shined out Yugoslavia among other communist countries, such as the Soviet Union. Most importantly, the charismatic leadership of Josef Broz Tito was one of the most significant reasons Yugoslavia stood still. Even though he might be considered a dictator, the Yugoslavian citizens considered him a symbol of unity. Eventually, like all who have ever walked this Earth, he passed away on the 4th of May, 1980. He left a gaping hole behind him that would eventually serve as one of the fundamental causes of the dissolution of Yugoslavia.
The primary goal of this historical crisis committee is to maintain the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yugoslavia after Tito’s death. Considering and realizing that Tito was the Symbol of Unity in Yugoslavia, participants will have significant challenges trying to keep a diverse ethnic nation together as one. Delegates are expected to deal with a wide range of problems that they may face individually, or as a Committee. This committee will require very experienced delegates, that also possess substantial knowledge of crisis procedures, therefore it is recommended for advanced delegates.
Participants of this committee will have the privilege to experience a unique perspective on the events that led to one of the most tragic events of recent history. Yet, the most crucial part is that they will have the opportunity to change history for the better. Our Academic and Crisis Staff will work hard to present the most accurate and best possible committee for the delegates. And they are thrilled to be working with you.
Srećno, dragi drugovi!
